Before you start
How do I strike a tongue drum correctly?
Use relaxed wrists and let the mallet rebound naturally after striking the broad middle area of a tongue. Avoid pressing or forcing the mallet into the surface, because that shortens the sound and makes the tone less clear. Learn basic tongue drum playing technique
Does the tuning of my tongue drum matter?
The physical tuning changes the pitch you hear, but DrumSings uses a fixed numbered display: 1 on the sheet matches tongue 1 on your drum. The available numbers and octave marks still need to match your instrument.
How do I read tongue drum sheet music?
DrumSings uses numbered notation that matches the numbered tongues on your instrument. Dots above or below a number show higher or lower octaves, while lines and dots around the notes describe rhythm and duration. Learn how to read tongue drum notation
How should I start learning a tongue drum song?
Choose a familiar melody, select your exact drum, listen to the interactive playback, and practise one short phrase at a time. The beginner guide also covers drum layouts, playing technique, rhythm, and practice basics. Open the beginner’s guide
